Won't Go Back To High Pressure When Adding More Ingredients.
We he have a CPC-600 electric pressure cooker. I have used it twice and had the same problem. I cooked a roast at high pressure. It wasn't completely done so I was going to cook it a little longer. If I choose low pressure the machine works fine. If I select high pressure the timer will count down but the machine doesn't come up to pressure to cook. The first time was with a pork roast by itself. The second time I did a chuck roast. When it was done I added potatoes and carrots. I could only cook then at low pressure.

Pressure cooker cannot maintain pressure Valve not closed properly - Adjust the valve. Heat turned down too soon (stovetop pressure cooker) - Review instruction manual for how to tell when the cooker has reached pressure. Heat turned down too low (stovetop pressure cooker) - Turn heat back up to high to regain pressure and lower less. Gasket or safety valve worn- Replace gasket and/or other silicone or rubber parts - usually once every 18 months.
