I take it this model has the electric lift switch? have you made sure the switch is clean and connected properly?

Try, removing carefully and check to see if the connections are clean, then use some di-electric grease, and put back together.

This grease can be purchased at any automotive store, if that doesn't work replace the switch with a new one. Also make sure the wiring to all parts in question are intact, and not cut or disconnected, this could be causing a short as well.

Thanks
