Question posted by Anonymous-7441 on January 20th, 2010

What are the pros and cons for each of the Costco membership types?

My family is considering renewing our membership with Costco, and they of course want us to choose the executive membership with the highest fee. What are the benefits from real customers... not Costco themselves?

Unless you're a business owner, your choice is between a $50 Gold Star membership and a $100 Executive membership. The $100 membership is for families with greater purchasing needs. It costs more because you'll get a 2% rebate on most purchases, up to $500 yearly. So you have to decide whether the benefit from the rebate will exceed the additional $50 cost. More here.

Executive Menbership is good only if you spend lots at Costco, then you'll get money back at the end of the year of your membership.
