Why I Have To Have Another Charge To Receive Assistance With My Wireless?

I have had Comcast for over 6 years. All of a sudden I can no longer access wireless in my home - fine everywhere else. When I call, I am told that I would need to purchase an Infinity Bundle for $39.95 plus a $9.95 monthly charge. This is their equipment - the router was installed when my original internet was installed.
