i am having dificulty connecting my hp pavilion tx 2000 to my 40 inch tv i have both vga to vga and vga to hdmi connections and neither works..

Ok, this MAY help. try connecting VGA to VGA. After that, take a look at your laptop; there should be a sign showing 2 different rectangles (may be in blue on F8 key). Now if its anything like mine, you want to look for the "Fn" key in blue. Hold that key and then press F8/the blue rectangles. This will give you the option to change screens. I hope this helps.
