Memory Will Not Erase

I Have the MP977-4G HD video player and I can not get the memory to clear. i Have deleated all of the videos from the file on my when the unit is plugged in but when I try to add a new video it tells me there is not enough free space. When I eject and unplg the unit there is nothing in the memory to view. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
