Check Engine Light - Remote Start

My check engine light came on last night, and this morning when I used the remote start it started and ran until I put my key fob in - engine stalled.  Tech said that was small evap leak and they reset the code, but remote start - ignition issue is still happening.  Too coincidental . . . and I can't run diagnostic forever at $90 / hr . . . any suggestions????
