What Causes A 2006 Cobalt To Not Shift Out Of Park, Blows The Lp Stop Fuse?

We can manually trip the shifter under the hood and when we do, this resets everything. Then we replace the LP Stop 10AMP fuse and the car is find for a few days. Then it happens again. Really want to find the cause of the problem and get it fixed.
