The Key Is Very Hard To Turn And I Have To Play With It.

It needs to be replaced, I believe.  What would be the cost of ignition switch replacement and different keys made.  Could this be done without having to go through the dealer for my 2004 Chevy Impala?  It requires too much play with the current key and will damage ignition switch eventually anyway.  I am looking for a reasonable answer that is cost effective and done without going through the dealer.  Is that possible?
