Timing Belt On A 2003 Chevy Tracker

My Chevy 2003 Tracker needs to have the timing belt replaced.  They tell me it has an interference motor and the cylinder needs to be removed in order to replace the belt.  The cost will be around $1200.  Does this sound correct?
