This is a community forum non-affiliated with Capitol One. However, we can provide additonal information on what you can do to get the answer you seek.
you may get some answers if you go into a local Capitol One Bank to speak directly with a representative there. If unsure where one is, you can view a list of locations in your area by going here and entering your zip code for the nearest one.
If you would rather call them again, you can do so at the following number:
Phone: 800-548-4593, Once the automated voice begins, press 0 four times and you should be transferred to a real person.
The alternative is to contact the company who sent the check to inquire about it's validity.
However, the following information should show cause for concern about the validity of the check, as it may likely be a scam:
- A refund was never requested by you
- There is no 'real' contact information printed on the check
- If a letter came with the refund check, and the explanation is vague, nor any contact information was provided
Much appreciation to those who acknowledge our members for their contribution toward finding a solution.
