The alternative is to contact the company who sent the check to inquire about it's validity.

However, the following information should show cause for concern about the validity of the check, as it may likely be a scam:

• A refund was never requested by you
• There is no 'real' contact information printed on the check
• If a letter came with the refund check, and the explanation is vague, nor any contact information was provided
