Can I connect an old i550 to my new MacBook Pro? What cable do I need to buy? Do I need to download drivers?

Yes, you can connect your Canon i550 to your MacBook Pro laptop. This is by using the appropriate cable. You can connect the cable to the USB port of your computer. If you do not have the cable, you can buy it online. These are the product links:
