My Laptop Cannot Detect My Canon Pixma Mp230

My laptop cannot detect my new Canon Pixma MP230 printer. I have the usb cable and I have downloaded the new drivers from the Canon website but it still does cannot detect the printer. PLEASE HELP!!!

Greetings. I trust you have installed the right driver for the model. You might have to update the printer's firmware. Try the firmware after having tried to install the printer to a different computer.
