Canon Mg5300 Series Setup

I have a MacBook Pro 2013 year. The Canon MG 5300 is installed because it shows on my control on 'Print and scan'. However, how can I get the printer off of 'Pause Default' ? On 'Pause Default' I have the setting on the arrow > and not the ll and I get nothing. Please help.
