How Do I Get Out Of A Support Code 5012 Error?

Fixed a paper jam and printer then went into this 5012 error problem. I've done all the steps the manual, internet etc., said to do but nothing. The yellow alert light flashes 22 times, then a slight hesitation and then 22 flashes again over and over. When powering down and then back up printer feeder rolls and then it goes back into alert light flashing 22 times over and over. It won't reset or come out of this error 5012 state. Other than boxing this up and sending back, is there something else I could do to try and fix?

According to Canon this is your only recourse.

Unless it's still under warranty the repair would most likely cost more than a new printer of the same type. I wish there was better news but there isn't.
