Installing Canon Computer

when I insert CD disc, computer says it can't find the printer. What is the problem?

Possible causes

Printer turned on but not connected via USB to computer
Printer turned off though connected via USB to computer
Bad/defect USB cable
Bad/defect printer USB port (uncommon)
