Park Brake Not Releasing

I had to park on an incline that I felt was rather steep, so I applied the park brake then released tension on the driveline and returned shifter to Park. When I went to release brake it seemed sluggish but no indication of problems with the brakes on the dash, but severe vibrations from rear of vehicle and burning brake smell with excessive heat from rear axle.

On my 2008 Buick Enclave CX, if you press the emergency/park brake down and you want to release it before you drive you have to slightly press down on the emergency/park brake and let up and it should release the emergency/park brake back to the neutral position. I hope there isn't any permanent damage by driving around with your emergency/park brake on. Good luck, hope everything is okay.
