The Hatch On My Rendevous Won't Open All The Time. What's Going On?

The electrical door mechanism must have failed and will have to be inspected. First ensure that the GATE REL fuse located in the center console fuse panel. You will find a manual release procedure here http://www.justanswer.com/buick/1vib4-2004-rendezvous-rear-hatch-electrical-door-handle-quit-working.html that should be able to help you gain access to the mechanism/wiring for inspection.
