Can I Adjust My Throttle Positioning Sensor Myself?

i have a 1995 Buick Lesabre, 6 cylinder my check engine light comes on i hook up my "actron scan tool" it tells me; "122, throttle positioning sensor[TPS]; low voltage" scan tool says i'm pulling ~0.10 volts at idle specs say i should pull ~0.50 volts at idle "haynes" manual says; "if you install a new TPS, you must go to dealerfor the final adjustment because you need ascan tool or volt meter" so, my question is; -can- i adjust a new TPS myselfand if so, how do i performthis adjustment? also;can i adjust the old TPS to getit back to specs or must ireplace the TPS? i'm wondering if the adjustmentis mechanical  or within the computer chip, meaning, is it just in how the TPS issituated physically or is it some sort ofsignal to/from the chip that needs to be tuned? i'd like to be able to do this adjustment, but, my manual is not helping me here. anything i can do>? thank you for your time, Timothy Sutter
