I Have A New Brother Ls-2125i. The Pattern Dial Will Not Turn Below 6 Or Above 7

Turning the dial less or more than 6 is impossible. The machine only straight stitches. Is there a secret to the dial.

Miraculously the dial now turns! I did nothing different except stand and turned the dial.
