Bosch Hbl8650uc Wall Oven Wiring Installation

I have a new wall oven arriving tomorrow. The old one's wiring was simply wire-nutted to three leads sticking out of a duplex box in the wall behind it. The new oven says the junction box needs to be above the unit (i.e., behind the upper cabinet?). My question is whether the connection can be made in a junction box attached on the end of my current wiring and then pushed up into the wall cavity beind the upper cabinet, or does the box have to be somehow attached up behind the upper cabinet. I have to have this ready for when the oven arrives tomorrow. I also need to know what size opening I need to punch out in advance for the armored cable from the oven if I need to hard-mount it behind the upper cabinet and then connect in the back of that cabinet. Any help appreciated.
