You can check if your phone number is eligible to port in at Solavei | Frequently Asked Questions
- Select Mobile Service
- Scroll down the page to "Can I keep my phone number if I switch to Solavei" and enter your phone number to check eligibility.
If the requested number to port is not eligible, you have the option to have a new number assigned to you. In the activation, please select “Assign me a new phone number in my zip code”.
Why is my number not eligible to port in?
Information Needed to Port In
Most service providers require 2 pieces of information to port out:
- Account number
- On your bill, or if prepaid, usually your phone number
- Password or PIN
- This is usually not your password for logging into your account online. You may need to call your old service provider for it.
Does my old service provider require something other than Account Number and PIN to bring my number to Solavei?
Check/Update Your Port In Request
- Login to My.Solavei.com and click the Activate button
- You will see the status of your port request.
- If there is an error with the information submitted, you will be able to update the information and resubmit the request. We recommend check with your previous provider before submitting the updated information.
- If your port shows as failed and you don't have the option to update the information, please Contact Us.
If the port request fails for any reason you will receive an email to the email address on file within 48 hours.
Timeline for Porting a Number
After you enter the required information to port a number in the activation process, it can take between 1 hour and 7 days to complete.
- Wireless numbers generally take 1-3 days
- Landline numbers generally take 2-5 days
- Google Voice numbers generally take 5-14 days
- If it takes longer than 7 days, you will need to Contact Us to complete the port

You should initiate the request to port with their new phone provider. The new phone provider will need the following information:
- The 10 digit phone number (this is your account number)
- The billing zip code assigned to your Solavei account
- We do not require a PIN number. If your new provider requests one, you can give them your zip code.
You must not cancel your Solavei account until the port out is complete. If your account is suspended, your number is still eligible to port out. You may port out as late as 30 days past your last day of paid service.
