Blackberry Data Not Recognized By Desktop

Trying to restore my backup  ipd file to new blackberry and wehn you go into desktop manager to restore it says "data not recognized by desktop"  I was connected with an enterprise server and have left that company.  File date is 4MB.  I just want to retrive my contacts any help would be appreciated.

for me the issue was that the backup was created with a different desktop version and it was resolved by restoring it with the same version as the backup was created
