When changing to a new needle on a Bernina 807, the needle should be in the highest position. This is to ensure that the needle is properly inserted into the needle holder and to prevent the needle from hitting the needle plate when you start sewing.

To move the needle to the highest position, turn the handwheel towards you until the needle reaches the highest point. You can also use the needle up/down button on the machine to move the needle to the highest position.

Once the needle is in the highest position, you can loosen the needle screw and remove the old needle. Then, insert the new needle into the needle holder and tighten the needle screw.

Here are the steps on how to change a needle on a Bernina 807:

Turn off the machine and unplug it from the power source.

Raise the needle bar to its highest position by turning the handwheel towards you.

Loosen the needle screw using a small screwdriver.

Remove the old needle and insert the new needle with the flat side facing the back of the machine.

Tighten the needle screw.

Lower the needle bar and plug the machine back into the power source.

You are now ready to sew!
