about every 15 minutes my computer screen pixelates and freezes, how do I fix this? my lap top is an ASUS x53e-rh31

I've a similar problem, I call it screen scramble. I also have an asus laptop. If you haven't upgraded your graphics driver then I would go to Asus an update them.
I upgraded to the latest driver and it didn't solve my issue. Since it seemed from memory that my freezes were happening when I'm browsing with IE I decided to change to the Fire fox browser. So far so good, its been about a week with no issues. Hope this helps.
