Is your iPad under Applecare warranty? If yes, no problem: call 1-800-My-Apple and be sure to have your iPad's serial number.(Your ipad is under warranty with Applecare support automatically for the first 90 days. Beyond that you need to have purchased Applecare for phone support, although the hardware is still covered for a full year.)
