Adobe Premier Elements Program No Longer Opens. ' Application Error'

I have been using the program and now I can't open the program.  I keep on getting adobe application error message.  Do I pay for a new program and download it. What happens to my current files.  Will they be lost?

If you have the original disc containing Adobe Premier, you probably just need to reinstall the program. You can choose to buy the newest version. Reinstalling or installing a newer version will not overwrite your files.
