Monitor Wont Work With My Laptop.
I recently bought a dell laptop, and an Acer monitor and when I try to connect them they wont recognize each other(a no signal comes up on the monitor). I also found that the monitor will connect to Donny's laptop which is the same as mine only a few years older. the weird part is I can use the cord that came with the monitor (Acer) and connect it to our desktops monitor and my laptop works fine with it. I have also tried starting the laptop first then the monitor along with turning the monitor on first then the laptop. If anything wasn't explained well or just mixed up let me know, and I'll try to explain better. my laptop has windows 7, and hdmi port. my monitor has a DVI and VGA.

Hi; i think i have the solution.
If your monitor is connected with your laptop/desktop and both are started up. press windows key + P key. you'll get a selection of things what will appear on the monitor.
i have 2 of this monitors and they work perfect with my laptop. hope it works
