Changing cpus is a pretty straight forward process thats easy to mess up. Take care handling the new cpu and do everything you can to avoid static shock as this will kill your cpu before you get started on the swap. Remove the fan, heatsink and cpu and use new thermal paste between the heat sink and the cpu. Dont try to get by without it. Its important. Put it back together and power it up.
If you want to upgrade the cpu then make sure the cpu you want is a socket FM1 type chip and is compatable with your board. When you power up your rig with the new chip it should work just fine. The bios will read the new chip and as long as its compatable then the jobs done.
