Acer Aspire 5253 Power Problem
I have an intermittent power problem with my ACER ASPIRE 5253.
When the AC power supply is connected it operates fine until the AC power is disconnected and turned off.
When you try to turn it back on it is just dead.(No power indication from either AC or Battery)
Sometime a gentle tap will bring it back on which sugests a bad connection somewhere.
When it is operating you can disconnect the AC charger and it will operate for hours suggesting the Battery is OK.I have opened up the case as best I can as there seems to be screws under the keypad that hold the two halves of the case together and for the life of me I cannot work out how to get final seperation for a better inspection.
Despite this I have been able to do a visual inspection of most of the internals but I cannot find anything obvious.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as this is frustrating the hell out of me :-(

Hello. It seems like the power jack might be loose inside. In order to open the laptop up, you have to make sure all of the screws are out and then go under the keyboard and unscrew the remaining screws. You have to use something small and flat, like a screwdriver to pop out the tabs underneath the top of the keyboard. It is tricky so you may need to watch a tutorial on it. If you find that the jack is damaged, you can get a quality replacement from laptopjacks.com part #Ac982516. Good Luck!
