I understand that you bought an iPhone from someone who forgot the screen lock code and can't remember it. There are a few things you can do to try to unlock the phone.

Try to remember the passcode. If you can remember even part of the passcode, you can try entering it repeatedly. The iPhone will give you hints after a few incorrect attempts.

Use Find My iPhone. If the previous owner enabled Find My iPhone, you can use it to reset the passcode. You will need to know the Apple ID and password for the account that was used to set up Find My iPhone.
