Can I Get Some Help In Fixing An At&t Phone Here?

I've got an an AT&T 900 MHz Cordless Digital Answering System Speakerphone 9350 and the handset doesn't work. I've replaced the batteries and charged them. The light on the base unit keeps flashing indicating that the batteries are continuing to be charged. When I press phone on the handset, nothing happens. However, the phone works on speakerphone.
