I have read so many negative reviews about the Whirlpool washers, I had to add my two cents. This is my 3rd Whirlpool. I have the WTW4950XW2 model and have not had a single issue with the machine in the 18 months I have owned it. Never been off balance or shut off, and I wash everything from king-size blankets to a small load of cleaning rags. I read the manual carefully and followed those directions as to loading, soap, etc. I don't have soap in my clothes after washing and my clothes are as clean as my old machine with an agitator. My sole complaint is the softener delivery system. It uses the Downy ball, which I think is worthless. That's what prompted me to take time to write this review at this time. Yet another load I just took out of the machine that contained the Downy ball still holding the fabric softener and water. It opens up, but doesn't dispense all of the softener.

i HAVE AwHIRLPOOL WASHER WTW4950XW0 iT,S A PIECE OF JUNK. It takes forever for a load to get done. There is always detergent residue on clothes. It,s impossible to do towels. Machine keeps shutting off with only a few towels.
I will never buy another Whirlpool product......p.o.ed in Pa.
