I Have A Singer 7258, Almost New. E7 Error Code! Help!

I have a Singer 7258 Stylist. Ive had it for about 6 months but i have just started using it within the last 2 weeks. I was sewing along last night and it just stopped and gave me an E7 error message. This message is not even listed in the manual. I have checked the bobbin area, nothing is bunched up or anything and I can manually move it. I have done everything exteriorly that i could think of to fix it, but i have yet to unscrew it and look inside. Help.

I have this problem as well. You posted your question in 2013, so this answer is for others. If your machine is still under warranty, TAKE IT BACK!

If you are stuck with it, these tricks have worked for me:

1. Clean out the dust around the bobbin holder

2. Push the bobbin spool on top to the right and turn the machine on with it in this position.

3. Change the needle

4. While it is on, with the E7 showing, push all the buttons randomly, including the needle position buttons and then try again.

5. If you've been using the machine alot, let it cool down.

Since none of these are serious fixes, I would say that the machine is giving this error message by mistake. I can imagine how much I'd have spent having a repair shop do these "fixes"

thanks to the person who posted an answer in 2014, that was very helpful. for me, the problem was that the back stitch button was stuck in the on position. once I corrected that, the machine started working again.

I don't really have the right answer because this machine keeps doing it to me and I had it for maybe 2 month. E7 error code has happened to me at leaswt 6 times and every time it was something different that fixed it. Once I pumped the foot pedal whiile the machine was off ands iot works, another time I flipped the bobbin threader back and forth, anoother times I cleaned it, another time I just unplugged everything for 30 minutes. This last time I turned it on and started push everything and it came on. Im sending my machine back a.s.a.p. cause its still under warrenty. This model machine has a horrible defect. Good luck.
