My Pantech Link Wont Let Me Go Into Messaging When I Try It Says Initializing

I had already tried a Master Reset like 5 times with no luck. I called ATT gophone after hours number at 1-866-695-2750 (because it was like 1am when I realized this problem...its now 5am...) and the customer service rep couldnt help me at all and never called me back like she said since the only phone I could use was my mobile and I had to troubleshoot it with her (Maria's) help! So I searched EVERYWHERE online for the answer to this problem (Pantech Link saying "initializing message" when I press text messaging. As a result could not send or receive any texts) and the above link had a person with the ANSWER! But first I had to save all my contacts/telephone numbers to my SIM card. After that I followed the instructions to do a "Master Clear" (NOT the same as a Master Reset). This will erase ALL your data (that's why I didnt want to do that one in the first place) BUT you will be able to TEXT AGAIN!!!!!  The person above (softballa)  is RIGHT and that answer helped me. THX!

I JUST solved this a few seconds ago. On your phone go to reset -> click "Master Clear" -> Then Reboot. :) Make sure that you have all your numbers saved before you rest

One other option that worked for me when master clear would not. After doing both master reset, then master clear, I pulled the battery while the phone was running. When powered up messaging was enabled.

The only other thing I did in the process of trying to get messaging working was add conversations to the shortcut options, and manually deleted messages. That was another mentioned solution for someone.

Only after pulling the battery with the phone running, did messaging start working for me though.
