I Get An Error Message: 'cannot Print Rx Data'

The Canon MF8380cdw answers and "talks" to the sending fax machine, but doesn't print the fax. Instead I get an error message "Cannot Print RX Data". When the Canon is turned off...and turned on again...the fax is printed. Why the error message? Why do I need to power down the Canon in order for it to print the fax?
