Zune 32mb Mp3 Player Opperation

is there a setting that will prevent my zune 32mb mp3 player from starting at the begining of my paly list every time I turn it on. My old sandisk started where I left off.

Not if you power it off completely. Technically there's no need to turn it off. It uses very little power when the screen is off and there's no music playing. I own one myself and never power if off completely.
