Rx-v1400
i bought a yamaha rx-v1400 receiver of ebay. When i plugged it in and turned it on it shut right back off. I noticed that the power cord is a 3prong and the reciever takes a 2prong power cord could this b the problem or something else

Can't say exactly how difficult, depends on how accessable the transistors are. If the bottom of the cabinet is removable it is generally very easy.
If taken to a repair shop I would estimate between $80 and $120 for parts and labor.
Is this something you want to try and repair yourself? If you know how to use a multi meter and soldering iron its possible
