Without being able to take your WTW7340XW apart, it's impossible to say exactly, but the most likely causes (and best to start with) are either a faulty start button or faulty switch. If you take the back of the control panel off, you should be able to access the switch that sits directly behind the start button (with the machine unplugged, of course). Test this switch with a multimeter and see if it is functioning correctly. Also check the back of the start button to be sure it is not broken or out of place.

If the switch is functioning correctly and the button is in good working order, please repost your question with the things you've tried so far, and we'll go from there.
