Circuit Breaker Trips When Dryer Is Turned On.

we had an old electric dryer that was just tired.  ran for years okay and the house we have lived in for 20 years since new. we replaced the dryer with the wed7300xw.  the first day we tryed the new dryer after the store installed it and the circuit triped for the first time.  220v. then it ran okay for a couple of months until now and today the circuit trips every time I try to turn on the dryer.  it just blows the circuit. What could cause this?

You have a elec. shot. Stop using the dryer until it's located. This may be a fire hazard. Check the service cord first. is it connected to the right terminals and are the terminals tight. Is the cord good ? Don't over look a bad 240v wall plug, the wires inside the plugs come lose and short. Power must be off at the breaker panel before checking !!!!! The dryer may also have a internal shot.
