Freezer Grinding Noise

i have a whirlpool side by side freidge and when the ice tray fills there is a grinding noise in the back of the freezer. if i pound on the houseing below the ice bucket pices of ice break loose insise the housing and it stops. it does this every few days or so. any soloution?????
