Can U Recover It? I Lost 8 Years Of My Best Work. Help

Depends on how damaged the drive is. Does it still spin? If so then I would recommend SpinRite. This wonderful tool has been around since the DOS days and has saved my bacon more than once. It's inexpensive and an invaluable tool to have. Go here to look it over: http://www.grc.com
Other than that you can try some commercial recovery tools but if the data is really important then you should get a quote from a recovery professional.

And by all means...start making backups on a regular basis. Hard disks are the most robust storage we currently have for the price, but they DO fail. Don't rely on any one drive for long term storage. Go with a RAID solution (2 disks mirrored). Even DVDs don't last.
