My Wd Passport Is Not Getting Detected By My Laptop.
MY WD PASSPORT IS NOT GETTING DETECTED BY MY LAPTOP.I AM USING IT SINCE 2YEARS.A MONTH AGO IT ACCIDENTALLY FELL DOWN FROM A HEIGHT OF 1 METER ,I DIDN'T CONNECTED IT TO ME LAP AND CHECHED NOW WHEN I AM CONNECTING IT MY LAP IS NOT DETECTING IT BUT TILL THEN IT WORKED REALLY EXCELLENT.PLZ HELP ME I NEED HELP ASAP .COZ MY VALUBLE INFO IS HIDDEDN THERE AND I LOST MY BACKUP TOO 2MONTHS B4 GOT MY LAPTOP FORMATTED .PLZ ITS P/N:-WDBAAA3200ABK-00

Hard drives do not like to be dropped. A one meter drop is extreme for a hard drive. That height is even shorter if the hard drive is powered on at the time. You could try to open the case and hope that only the interface is damaged (not likely) otherwise it is just a paperweight. Since it was powered off, all of the data is still on the disks inside maybe without damage. A data recovery company may be able to recover all of it but it will cost BIG, BIG bucks. I have heard into the thousands of dollars. You may just have to write it off.
