New Activation But Cannot Get Or Send Sms Messages

just got the LG optimus V yesterday, got my number ported over. It was working this morning. I can call and go on the web. But cannot use text. I cannot send text, it just sends and will not be received. Or i send from another phone, the message says the number doesn't have SMS support. I have the unlimited text plan. I called customer care and had my service re-started. But still not working, i can send a text to myself though.. help please
