Transfer Phone Number

I have a tracfone now and would like to transfer the phone number to my new Virgin Mobile Motorola Triumph phone. I have not activated my new phone yet but it is fully charged and ready to go. What do I need to do to transfer my phone number? (I realize that the trackfone will become inactive once I transfer the number.) Do I need to call customer support? I would like to get started using my new phone as soon as possible.
