I Want To Switch My Current Number From Sprint To Virgin Mobile, Can I Do This?

i want to purchase a virgin mobile phone and i want to switch over my current number through sprint to virgin mobile, I DO NOT want to have to change my number, I am on my fathers family plan, what information do i need to obtain to be able to transfer the number over?
