New To Virgin Mobile, How Do I Set Up Monthly Payment W/credit Card?

IF we don't set up monthly payments, but pay monthly, if we want to not have phone access for a week or 2, or a month, here and there - do we keep the phone number? is there a penalty to sign up again? how does this work? thanks a lot, [email protected]
