Static/home Converter Unit

I've tried to eleminate static on my home line by contacting both the wireless phone maker and Verizon but continue to have static. I've replaced the phone sysyem with new and been told by verizon that i'm in a low signal area and nothing can be done. This problem has been evedent for three weeks. I'v had this system for over a year and it was fine. Can this problem be in the converter unit and can it be replaced with newer technology?
