Name On Ticket Does Not Exactly Match That On Passport

My family and I are due to fly with yourselves on the 21st July. Our first flight being from Newcastle, England (NCL) to New york(EWR).At the time of the booking your systems crashed. You had taken my money but the booking had not been made or completed. So I phoned the contact number for system issues and it was in the USA.when I received the Etickets (I was still on the phone with the advisor) 2 of the names do not exactly match our passports.Mrs When I pointed this error out the advisor told me it would not be a problem it was just where the letters would not fit in.Could you confirm this is indeed correct and if not reissue the Etickets in the correct names.
