UPS does not initiate a delivery without a tracking number in the system. If the shipper shipped via UPS, he should have a tracking number for you. With that number you can make further inquiry of UPS using the contact information on this page. If you can't obtain the number from the sender, you may be able to determine it at this UPS page:
http://www.ups.com/tracking/tracking.html
